FAIRMONT — The accused accomplice in a breaking-and-entering case on Merchant Street was arrested Wednesday by the Fairmont Police Department.

Thomas Oliver Casella, 28, of Fairmont, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering. According to criminal complaints, he and an accomplice gained access to the roof of Rider Pharmacy on Merchant Street early Tuesday morning.

His partner then “pried open a portion of the ventilation system to gain entry into the attic and broke his way through the ceiling into the store area,” the complaint says. The partner then allegedly removed a quantity of concentrated liquid morphine and powders before returning through the attic.

The value of the stolen and damaged property reportedly exceeded $2,500.
