PLEASANT VALLEY —
Pleasant Valley will soon have a municipal court.
At Wednesday’s city council meeting, the council had its second reading of City Court Ordinance No. 34, which legally declares the intention to create the court.
Mayor Barbara Metcalfe said, “Our city is ready. We have a lot of ordinances that need attention.”
Now that the ordinance has been read twice, council is ready to work out the details of how the court will be organized.
The city council approved spending $250 on treats for county kids at the Middletown Mall Safe Halloween Parade and Party, which will take place on Monday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. Metcalfe said that in the past, the event has seen between 900 and 1,200 kids in attendance, and that “all of Pleasant Valley is invited.”
