Rivesville gets waterline funding

Better access for as many as 1,500 customers

FAIRMONT — With the state budget tightening, the chances of getting a municipal project completely funded within months of applying are slim to none.

But the Town of Rivesville didn’t let that stop them.

Rivesville recently lined up the funding through West Virginia’s Small Cities Block Grants and the Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council (IJDC) to install a new water pipeline between the City of Fairmont and Rivesville, improving water access for as many as 1,500 people.

“I think it’s going to be a major accomplishment,” said Mayor Jim Hershman.
