At Wednesday’s meeting, the Marion County Commission recognized Saturday, June 22, as the dedication day of the West Virginia State Council Vietnam Veterans of America mobile wall.
The mobile wall, which contains the names of more than 700 West Virginia veterans who have passed away, travels throughout the state as a tribute to those who have served their country.
“The Marion County Commission is very proud to be a participant in the dedication day for this mobile wall,” Randy Elliott, president of the Marion County Commission, said.
Elliott said the proclamation will be read at 10 a.m. Saturday at Veterans’ Square Plaza.
The commission also announced it has sent its final budget revisions to the general and coal severance funds to the state as the end of the fiscal year approaches.
Elliott said several internal budget revisions were made, as is the case every year.
