Marion County has its own special heroes who, by getting drunken drivers off the roads, make the world just a little safer for everyone.
Deputies and officers with the Marion County Sheriff’s and Fairmont City Police departments were among those in the eight-county High Technology Corridor Region of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program honored recently for their dedication and outstanding work.
“They were recognized for going above and beyond their duty in the drunk-driving initiative,” said Georgia Hatfield, regional program director.
