Greater Paw Paw expansion set

FAIRMONT — Wednesday was a busy day for the Marion County Commission, as it took care of two meetings’ worth of agenda plus a public hearing.

It had not met July 24 because of the passing of commission President Randy Elliott’s mother, Alice Marie Losh Elliott.

The commission approved the expansion of the Greater Paw Paw Sanitary District to provide sewerage service to the Monongalia County town of Crown.

With no objections to the project at the public hearing, the project is now a “go.”

Because the GPPSD is actually a public service district, and not a sanitary district, territory expansion is governed by West Virginia Code and is supplemented by the Public Service Commission’s sewer rules.
