Riverfront development ‘hot topic’

Reese: ‘Fairmont and the county want to do the best we can for our citizens’

FAIRMONT — “The hottest topic in town.”

The riverfront development of Palatine Park is such a positive thing for the county, “No one is against it,” said Charlie Reese, Marion County Development Authority.

He gave an update on the project at Wednesday’s meeting of he Marion County Commission.

Representatives of the Division of Natural Resources were “very, very impressed with the site,” he said.

“We’re still trying wo work out a deal on the property with the city,” Reese said. He said he had approached Fairmont City Council on July 23.
