The dean of the College of Fine Arts at Fairmont State University was arrested over the weekend and charged with the second-degree sexual assault of a male campus employee.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Marion County Magistrate Court, Peter Lach, 68, of 112 David Daniels Road, Fairmont, was the victim’s direct supervisor.
Lach allegedly called the victim into his office suite in Wallman Hall to talk about benefits when he sexually assaulted the employee.
He was arrested without incident by Fairmont State campus police and the West Virginia State Police. He was taken to the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County, and has since posted bond.
Lach has been placed on administrative leave, said a Fairmont State spokesperson.
