In the early morning of Black Friday and even Thanksgiving night, many people where anxiously waiting for stores to open so they could be the first ones to grab discounted sale items off shelves.
On Friday morning, many were up early for a different reason, volunteering.
Around 7 a.m., volunteers were setting up the Christmas Toy Shop at the Marion County Election Center on East Side.
Because of the tremendous generosity of the community, County Commissioner Butch Tennant said they will be holding the Christmas Toy Shop again on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 4-7 p.m. at the same location.
Pastor Holley Faulkner of The Baptist Temple has been putting on the shop for four years.
“We provide toys, games, puzzles and stuffed animals for the children of Marion County,” he said.
Faulkner said it’s a great way to bring everyone together.
