FAIRMONT — An out-of-state truck caused damage to a downtown apartment complex Monday morning, snarling traffic at about 8 a.m. Monday.

A truck, marked with Joshen Paper and Packaging on its side and cab door, an Ohio-based company, was driving up Jefferson Street in downtown Fairmont when the top of his truck made contact with a deck on the Eastview Unity Apartment building.

Plaster from the deck showered down and covered the sidewalk, and the collision caused damage to the truck, too, peeling back the metal on the front of the box of the truck.

Fairmont Police officers responded to the scene, where one lane of traffice was at a standstill because of the accident during the morning commute through downtown.
