BARRACKVILLE — The Barrackville Town Council met Tuesday evening to discuss the town’s upcoming Christmas celebration and continue to pursue safe sidewalks for the children of the town.

Mayor Roy Meeks said the town is getting prepared for its 11th annual “Christmas in Our Town” celebration.

“It’s a pretty big thing for the town of Barrackville and I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

The festivities are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and again from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday with 22 crafters and food for sale in the community building. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Other attractions include Santa Claus and his elves, Christmas sleigh rides and fireworks later in the evening.
