Since October, the Program Advancing Community Employment (PACE) Project in Monongah has been aiming to create new jobs in the town while simultaneously meeting the needs of the residents.
Late last month, the project took another step forward.
On June 18 and June 20, focus groups were held as a way to bring people from the community together and brainstorm ideas for employment opportunities.
Caprice Doty, the coordinator of Monongah’s PACE project, said that the focus group meetings exceeded her expectations.
“The community is really behind all of this,” Doty said. “We’re so excited that things are falling into place.”
