FAIRMONT — Phillip Reese Bush, who is serving two life sentences for a double murder in Fairmont in 1982, has been named in connection to the 1974 triple Windmill Park homicides in three criminal complaints filed at Marion County Magistrate Court.

The complaints, which were filed by police and signed by Circuit Judge Michael Aloi on Feb. 6, are terse and to the point: “Eddie Jack Washington, along with Phillip Reese Bush, shot and killed William Ray Cobb at or near 609 Bellview Blvd., Fairmont, Marion County, WV. This is based on witness statements as well as Washington’s post-Miranda admissions.”

Similar documents were filed in the names of husband and wife Guy Lester Phillips and Wanda June Phillips, the other two victims.

Only Washington is listed as a defendant in these complaints, which are also signed by Detective Sgt. Douglas E. Yost of the Fairmont City Police Department.

As of Friday afternoon, no complaints had been filed in Marion County Magistrate Court naming Bush as a defendant.
