The Brookside neighborhood in Mannington is no stranger to traffic.
Foot traffic, that is.
And that’s why Councilman Terry Starsick has devoted so much time to a plan to repair the sidewalks in that area.
“The downtown area looks great, and we want to spread it out from there,” Starsick said. “Hopefully the city can come up with a project where they take some of the cost to replace some sidewalks.”
Last week, that project took a significant step forward thanks to council’s unanimous vote to spend a $60,000 grant they received from the state to repair six sidewalks in the Brookside area.
