From flooding to wind storms to blizzards, the intense weather over the past year has caused some farmers in West Virginia to lose their crops.
But one berry farm has survived almost unharmed.
McConnell Berry Farm in Monongalia County grows blueberries and blackberries and has done so for the past 30-plus years.
Bob McConnell, owner of the farm, said the storms last year didn’t affect his crops.
“Last year was a good year for us,” he said. “The wind tore up the netting on top of the berries, but it didn’t harm the fruit.”
