For the second year in a row, Fairmont State University professor Gregory Noone has been selected as a finalist for the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia’s Professor of the Year Award.
Since 1984, the Faculty Merit Foundation has been honoring faculty members at West Virginia colleges and universities for their innovation and dedication to their institutions and students.
Last year, Noone, the director of the FSU National Security and Intelligence program and an assistant professor of political science and law, was selected as the runner-up to Professor of the Year Dr. Marcello R. Napolitano, a mechanical and aerospace engineering professor at West Virginia University.
According to Cheryl Marsh, who oversees the nomination process, nomination forms were sent out in the beginning of the fall semester to all of the presidents of the universities and colleges across the state as well as academic deans, student body government presidents and newspapers. FSU President Maria Rose nominated Noone.
