FAIRMONT — Fairmont police are looking for a white male they believe robbed the Subway at 719 Fairmont Ave. at gunpoint late Sunday night.

“A male suspect produced a black semi-automatic handgun at 11:32 p.m. Sunday and took cash from the cash register,” said Detective Lt. Steve Shine of the city police department. “This is a felony,” he said of the crime.

He declined to say how much money was taken.

Because of the camera angles, police are unable to issue an estimate of the suspect’s height and weight, he said. Based on the surveillance camera images, the suspect has dark, short cropped hair and was wearing black pants, a purple and black pullover sweater and white shoes.

If you can identify the man pictured, contact Detective Adrian Hayhurst at 304-366-2217.
