Communities to be part of ‘30 on 30’

County-wide effort to make schools safer

FAIRMONT — All of Marion County’s communities have agreed to play a part in marking the schools safer.

On Wednesday afternoon, the administration of the Marion County Board of Education met with mayors, police chiefs and police officers from every city and town in the county to discuss the “30 on 30” project.

The goal of the meeting, held at the Central Office of Marion County Schools, was to create open, effective communication between the board of education and the communities.

Andy Neptune, administrative assistant of human resources and student support services for Marion County Schools, explained that “30 on 30” stemmed from a board of education meeting.
