First Baptist Church hosting reading program

FAIRMONT — First Baptist Church of Fairmont is looking for people who like to read.

It’s opened its newly refurbished library to the public, with a summer reading program from 1-2 p.m. Tuesdays. Hours may be added or extended if there are enough readers.

Mary Bronson, library coordinator, has restocked its shelves with current favorites and old classics, plus many faith-inspired books as well.

She went through the books that were there, donated the older ones, and scoured thrift shops and sales for more contemporary books that appeal to younger readers, from “The Chronicles of Narnia” to a bio of the Jonas Brothers.

She’s looking for some young adult books for readers middle to high school.
