Labor solidarity on display at CWA rally: PHOTOS

Crowd gathers to show support for union as Frontier contract negotiations continue

FAIRMONT — The ground was damp, but the spirit wasn’t at a rainy Saturday rally by the Communication Workers of America (CWA) to show labor solidarity as the union negotiates an extension of employee contracts with Frontier Communications.

The contract will expire Aug. 2, and the CWA feels the negotiations are not making much progress. At stake are health care benefits, which Frontier wants to raise costs on, and using contract labor in place of their established workforce.
