FAIRMONT — A Fairmont man was arrested Oct. 2 by Sgt. Adam Scott of the West Virginia State Police and charged with three counts of child sexual abuse by parent, guardian or custodian, and one count of sexual assault in the first degree of a juvenile female family member.

According to the criminal complaint filed at the Marion County Magistrate Court, Danna William Deem, 71, of 478 Hampton Road, Fairmont, committed the assaults on Aug. 22, 2013, at his residence.

The victim and her brother, according to the complaint, were staying at Deem’s house while his wife was at a local fair. She said that she was going to take a bubble bath when Deem came into the bathroom and took his clothes off. He got into the tub with her and told her to wash him off. She said it was his idea to take three baths the same day.

After the baths, he sexually assaulted the child, saying he wanted to “show her where she could get pregnant,” the complaint states. He them told her “she would always be his little girl and he would always love her.”
