UPDATED WITH PHOTOS: Fire along U.S. 250 shuts down road, schools

RACHEL — Emergency officials were dispatched to a fire along Husky Highway shortly before 5 a.m. this morning, causing U.S. Route 250 to be closed and schools canceled in the North Marion area.

A fire that consumed a local bar and grill had units from Marion, Monongalia and Wetzel counties fighting the blaze.

The first call at 4:51 a.m. Thursday alerted units of a structure fire at 4182 Husky Highway, the address listed for Blondie's Bar and Grill in Farmington.

Reports that North Marion High, Mannington Middle and Blackshere Elementary schools were closed was confirmed through the West Virginia Department of Education's website.
