Road to Recovery seeks volunteer drivers

To add to ‘amazing’ group helping patients keep appointments

FAIRMONT — The Road to Recovery program.

Do you know anything about it?

The organizers are attempting to get the word out on this most valuable program.

The Road to Recovery is a volunteer service for Marion County residents who have cancer.

Road to Recovery volunteers drive cancer patients to and from their doctors’ appointments if they lack other transportation — to Clarksburg and Morgantown as well as Fairmont.

“Being a volunteer driver is a great thing for retired people,” Jill Vangari of the American Cancer Society said. ”We’ve got some excellent volunteers, but we are seeking to find a few more of them.”
