Ride will fund wreaths at national cemetery

Saturday event to benefit Wreaths Across America

FAIRMONT — A memorial ride on Saturday will pay tribute to the late Pete “Ace” Turner while helping a worthy cause at the same time.

Sponsored by the West Virginia Jeep Club, the ride will leave the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown at 10 a.m. and proceed to Rivesville.

Turner was “an awesome, awesome guy,” said his widow, Judy Turner.

He passed away last suddenly July 7, 2012. She still chokes up when she talks about him.

Ace was many things: Army veteran, Jeep enthusiast, active community man, husband, brother, uncle, granddad and, above all, patriot who “loved everything about his country.”
