Mannington voters in precincts 67 and 68 will vote there as usual in the upcoming election.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the Marion County Commission rescinded its order from two weeks ago to consolidate the two precincts.
“The district lines went between those two precincts,” said Marion County Clerk Janice Cosco.
“One precinct divided the council district and caused some conflicts with candidates for city council. To accommodate both candidates and both districts, they would have had to change Mannington city charter. We didn’t want that.
“After the election, I’ll get with Mannington officials and see how we can help precinct 68 (which has fewer than 300 voters)."
