“They both have guns!”
Made by Sarah Sanders to 911 dispatchers on June 26, 2010, this statement is one of several uncontested facts in the case of William Michael Horton Jr.
“They” were two masked men — later identified as Shaquille Lewis, then 16, and the late John Cottingham — who broke into her home at 319 Quarry Ave. early that morning. They demanded drugs and money, and when she could not come up with them, beat her with a gun and dragged her at gunpoint to a neighbor’s house across the street who had the items.
It is also uncontested, said Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Freeman, that there were two separate robberies and burglaries.
