The Fairmont State University Board of Governors met Thursday morning to discuss the evaluation of President Dr. Maria Rose.
“Dr. Rose exceeds this board’s expectations regarding the job she has done at Fairmont State,” Chairman Ron Tucker said. “We have all the faith in the world in Dr. Rose and believe that she is leading this institution in a very positive direction both now and in the long term.”
As a result of her positive evaluation, the board voted to extend Rose’s contract for another year.
Rose expressed her gratitude to the board.
“It’s been an honor to work with this Board of Governors,” she said. “They’re a group of dedicated individuals who truly have the interest of the university at heart. “
Rose said that she is proud of what they have been able to accomplish together, and hopes their momentum will continue to move forward in the future.
“We’ve accomplished a lot during the past year but we have a lot more work to do,” Rose said. “I appreciate the vote of confidence this board has placed in me by renewing my contract.”
