The Mannington Police Department arrested a young woman this week on sexual abuse-related charges.
Taylor Rae Allmon, 18, of 1831 Dents Run Road, Mannington, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree sexual assault and distribution and display of obscene material to a minor.
According to criminal complaints, the investigation started when school officials found “obscene material of a female” on the cellphone of a 12-year old boy attending Mannington Middle School.
Mannington police reportedly obtained a search warrant and seized the phone for evidence. An interview between the boy and Child Protective Services, according to the complaint, revealed that the woman whose pictures were present on the phone was Allmon, a friend.
When police spoke with Allmon, she reportedly told officers that she had engaged in sexual actions with the boy on multiple occasions. She was arrested and arraigned in Marion County Magistrate Court, with bond being set at $15,000.
If convicted, she faces 15-25 years in prison with a possible fine of $1,000-10,000 for sexual assault and one to five years in prison for distribution and display to minors of obscene material, with an additional fine of up to $25,000 at a judge’s discretion.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department also arrested David Wayne Donley, 30, of 66 Twin Knobs, Morgantown, on charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
According to a criminal complaint, Donley’s vehicle was stopped after officers observed it “weaving from lane to lane.”
