FAIRMONT — With fewer than four weeks to his capital murder trial, Michael Ian Palmer appeared before Circuit Judge Michael Aloi Tuesday with defense and prosecuting attorneys to get things in order.

Palmer is charged with the first-degree murder of his father-in-law, 62-year-old Everett Earl “Eddie” Wilson, on Dec. 11, 2011, at the Baxter home Palmer shared with his wife, Kristyn Lorraine Palmer.

She is charged separately with the same crime and faces trial in September.

A bid by defense attorney Stephen Sean Murphy to quash the June 2012 indictment that sent Palmer to jail is still in the works.
