Fairmont man killed in motorcycle accident

Second fatality this month near I-79’s exit 137

FAIRMONT — A man died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident around 12 a.m. Thursday by exit 137 East Grafton Road near Interstate 79, Marion County Dispatch reports.

William A. Edwards, 34, of Fairmont was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later.

Marion County Dispatch said no other vehicle was involved in the accident.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation.

No further information about the accident was available as of press time.

This is the second person this month to be killed in a motorcycle accident by exit 137.

Adam Harper, 21, of Fairmont, was killed Nov. 8 after his motorcycle collided with a car around 3 p.m. in front of the entrance ramp onto Interstate 79 north. He died at the scene.
