Goal: ‘Proper funding’ for NETL, NASA

McKinley is among representatives making contact on appropriations

FAIRMONT — Marion County’s congressman in the House of Representatives is working to save a number of local jobs.

Rep. David McKinley recently wrote to members on the House Committee on Appropriations to prevent funding for the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), and NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) agencies from being cut.

Cory Toth, a senior legislative aide speaking on behalf of the congressman, said NETL is an agency that touches just about every single district in the country.

“There’s nearly 800 direct jobs at Morgantown, and almost the same at Pittsburgh,” Toth said.
