Comic book-film-game convention this weekend in Morgantown

FAIRMONT — Since the 1990s, Chevee Dodd has been gathering with his friends once a week to play board games, allowing them to be both social as well as have friendly rivalries with one another.

“It’s like an ongoing fantasy football league,” said Dodd, a Fairmont resident. “We’re competitive, but we’re having fun. We’re not just sitting around watching TV.”

And now, Dodd is not just sitting around playing someone else’s games. He has come up with several of his own, one of which has been published by a Massachusetts-based company, Gamewright.

Scallywags is a pirate-themed game in which the players deal cards that allow the players to trade, steal and give away coins.
