Dr. Seuss’ birthday being observed

BARRACKVILLE — Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, once said, “Today is good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.”

Tomorrow, March 2, is another because many people around the United States will be celebrating the children’s book writer’s 119th birthday.

Unfortunately, Dr. Seuss passed away in 1991, but many Americans are remembering the writer on Saturday with Read Across America Day. It’s a day promoting reading to children.

Christian Cox, with the Marion County Public Library, said the library will be holding its own special celebration for Read Across America with its “Seussical Sensational Fun!”
