Candlelight service highlights fight against domestic violence

FAIRMONT — The message was clear.

Stop the domestic violence.

A candlelight service was held on the campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College on Tuesday night recognizing victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Along with the two schools, HOPE Inc. and the Wesley Foundation sponsored the event at the Education Building on campus

The night started off with FSU President Dr. Maria Rose and Pierpont President Dr. Doreen Larson welcoming the crowd to campus.

Rose spoke about the importance of getting the word out about domestic violence.
