North schools emphasize pride, needs

RACHEL — Schools in the North Marion attendance area had a lot of pride talking about their schools on Tuesday evening, while also emphasizing particular needs that would help keep their schools running efficiently.

During Tuesday’s night Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) meeting, Barrackville Elementary/Middle, Blackshere Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Fairview Middle, Mannington Middle, Marion County Technical Center, Monongah Elementary, Monongah Middle and North Marion High School updated the Marion County Board of Education on the progress made within the past year at each of their facilities.

After struggling to reach Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) last year, Barrackville worked hard to change the outcome for 2012 and was successful.
