Pleasant Valley looking to future

Responsible growth over next 10 years is the city’s objective

PLEASANT VALLEY — The City of Pleasant Valley recently had its first reading of its 10-Year Plan, a document intended to promote the growth and development of the city into the future.

“Everything looks to be on track,” said Jeff Boyles, president of the planning commission. “We feel that it’s positioned well for responsible growth over the next 10 years.”

Much of the work in creating the plan centered around zoning, the process of determining what kinds of structures can be built where and what they can be used for. The planning commission had to perform a sort of balancing act to make sure residential, commercial and industrial zones could all grow without stepping on each other’s toes.
