Blueprints have been made up and plans are moving forward for Mannington Main Street.
Main Street received a Growing Healthy Communities Grant for $13,000 from Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin on Monday.
The governor gave out $77,800 to organizations across the state for the Growing Healthy Communities Grant Program. The grant money comes from funding by the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
“From the establishment of walking trails and community gardens to planning for a local, natural food store, the innovative projects awarded (Monday) focus on our communities’ health while encouraging downtown economic development,” Tomblin said in a press release.
