Despite what the temperatures outside may indicate, spring is officially under way.
And with the thought of warmer weather quickly approaching, many residents will entertain the notion of beginning various home-improvement projects.
Before taking on such projects however, it is important to be aware of codes and regulations that are set forth by the city.
Ken Fletcher, the city’s building inspector, said that often times, residents will be in violation of codes and regulations simply because they didn’t realize they existed.
A common violation that Fletcher sees is work being started without first properly obtaining a building permit.
