McKinley: Sequestration ‘rough, crude’

Congressman is frustrated with lack of U.S. energy policy

FAIRMONT — U.S. Rep. David McKinley spoke with members of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce Wednesday in the effort to “bring Washington to you,” the congressman said.

“It’s much easier for me to come to you than for you all — 100 or so of you — to come to Washington,” McKinley explained during the Coffee with Congress event at the Robert H. Mollohan Research Center.

Bringing Washington, D.C., to community and business leaders meant offering his perspective on the national debt, impending budgetary deadlines and the nation’s lack of an energy policy.

McKinley said he firmly believes that “sequestration” will happen come March 1.
