FARMINGTON — The sun was shining Saturday, and cars were lined up neatly in rows, the sun’s reflection glinting off the cars’ flawless paint.

It was the perfect day for Farmington’s second annual “Fall into the Heart of Marion County” event.

The event ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a car show from 1 to 3 p.m. It also included a craft fair, concessions, 50/50 and raffle drawings, and dogs to play with from local pet rescue Pet Helpers. It took place at Farmington’s Ray Kelly Athletic Field.

Donna Costello, Farmington’s mayor, said the event was meant to kick off the fall season for the county.

“It’s all about keeping activity in Farmington,” Costello said, “and coming up with different events to bring people into the heart of Marion County.”
