Scott Place Homeless Shelter and the Fairmont Community Development Partnership want to work together to improve the local community.
The team of Scott Place invited representatives from the FCDP to tour its facilities in Fairmont Wednesday morning and learn about the different programs it offers.
Courtney Young, shelter manager, said this was an effort to strengthen the collaborations between the two entities and create a link in the community for services.
She explained that Scott Place is a homeless shelter that offers the Grant and Per Diem Program through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. According to Veterans Affairs’ website, www.va.gov, this program gives funding to community agencies that provide services to veterans who are homeless.
