Fairmont woman charged with kidnapping, assault

FAIRMONT — A Fairmont woman was arrested by Fairmont City Police and charged with kidnapping and assault in the commission of or attempt to commit a felony.

According to the criminal complaint filed at the Marion County Magistrate Court, Courtney Marie Oliverio, 31, of 833 Emerson St., Fairmont, confronted another woman at Oliverio’s home about having an affair with her boyfriend.

According to the complaint, Oliverio struck the victim in the head and body, burned her with a cigarette multiple times and cut her hair while threatening to kill her with scissors.

At least three people witnessed the attack, which lasted about an hour, the complaint states.

After this, the complaint states, Oliverio forced the victim and two juveniles who had witnessed the attack into the trunk of the victim’s car.

She drove the vehicle to a local convenience store, released the victim from the trunk of the car and then forced her to drive to Clarksburg, where they picked up a member of Oliverio’s family.

They returned to her Emerson Street residence, where police arrested her.
