Statements Eddie Jack Washington made in 1978 and 2013 about his possible involvement in the 1974 Windmill Park murders should be suppressed from his November trial, says his defense team.
The prosecution says they are completely admissible.
Washington has been indicted, along with Phillip Reese Bush, for the triple Windmill Park homicides of Wanda and Guy Phillips, and Billy Ray Cobb on Aug. 2, 1974. He was arrested in Tampa on Feb. 7, 2013.
His trial is set to begin Monday, Nov. 18, and last through the week. Trial has yet to be set for Bush.
Washington has made three sets of statements about his participation in the crime: in 1974, 1978 and 2013.
