The Fourth of July means a lot for the United States, marking the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
It’s a big day for Marion County too.
Three towns in Marion County will have festivities throughout the day today, with more planned for the weekend.
The Town of Fairview has celebrated Independence Day every year since the nation’s bicentennial in 1976, the longest-running continuous Fourth of July party in Marion County. They’ll kick off their celebration early Thursday morning with the annual Ray Hedrick 5K Fun Run.
