Water rescue

Times West Virginian

FAIRMONT — The dive team from Winfield Volunteer Fire Department was called to Metz late Thursday night for a water rescue after reports of a teenage girl jumping into State Road Fork near the Metz Community Building.

The call came in to 911 at 9:39 p.m.

According to a dispatcher with Marion County Central Communications, rescue workers and her family were at the scene looking for the juvenile. He said he did not know if the teen was actually in the water but said first-responders would probably be there all night. The creek level is elevated from the recent rains.

Company 9 from Mannington also responded.
