Thanksgiving marks a time for families who live both near and far apart to enjoy delicious meals and the company of one another.
For the McCutchan family, however, that’s not much different from any ordinary day.
John and Nancy McCutchan and their sons Tyler and Michael exemplify the true spirit of a family. That’s just one reason they’ve been named the Times West Virginian’s Family of the Year.
“When I stop by for a visit they’re either sitting around the big kitchen table or maybe in the living room relaxing,” said Mary Jo Thomas, a family friend of the McCutchans. “Even with as busy as they are and as many directions as they go, they make a commitment to do that. They’re all about family.”
John operates his own company, McCutchan Heating and Cooling, while Nancy, a cancer survivor, is an elementary school teacher at Rivesville.
