Several sites in Marion County will be accepting specific recyclable items over the holiday season, but in light of some recent issues, certain guidelines must be followed.
“We just wanted to be prepared when they come to the site,” said Bobbi Benson, executive director of the Marion County Solid Waste Authority.
Statistics provided by the Marion County Solid Waste Authority show that 48 tons of recyclable items were brought to participating locations last December, compared to 20.5 tons at the same time in 2010.
“It’s hard for us to keep up actually,” said Benson. “At Christmas, it really comes in.”
