Jayenne holds Christmas program

FAIRMONT — Stepping up on the stage at Jayenne Elementary School initially made fourth-grader Chelsa Glover very nervous.

The thought of performing in the school’s Christmas program last Friday in front of so many people was intimidating at first, until she started to sing. Her favorite song was “Christmas Comes from the Heart” because sign language accompanied the makeup of the song.

“I realized that I shouldn’t be (nervous) because I know all of these people and my friends,” she said.

For Jayenne, it was its second Christmas program of the week. Another performance was held on Tuesday night at Fairmont Senior High School.

Every year Jayenne students are diligent about preparing for the school’s Christmas program, practicing as early as September.
