Court: Expulsion of student stands

Over violation of Safe Schools Act

FAIRMONT — The expulsion of a North Marion High School student for one school year stands following a hearing in Marion County Circuit Court.

Kathleen Lawson, parent of the minor, filed a petition for writ of mandamus through her attorney, Kevin Tipton of Tipton Law Offices, requesting that the court order the board of education to reinstate her child as a student at North Marion.
