U.S. Marshals arrest Marion County fugitive

FAIRMONT — U.S. Marshals, with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, arrested a Marion County fugitive Thursday morning after almost a month on the run.

Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Alex P. Neville said Christopher Robey, of Fairview, was arrested at 7 a.m. in a church parking lot near Bunner Ridge.

Robey was wanted on charges of unlawful wounding issued Dec. 22, 2012.

Robey allegedly beat his former girlfriend and broke her jaw.

Neville said marshals became involved because of the seriousness of the charge and Robey’s intentional flight from Marion County authorities.
